My understanding is that these machines will not work without something in the PDS slot. It's been awhile since I've been inside my 7100, so I don't know that this would be a likely occurance or not. I doubt this would work, but can you boot from CD or floppy? It doesn't sound like the machine is going that far in the startup though. Uh, that's all I've got that hasn't been mentioned already :) Hope this or someone else's post helps, J White P.S.
