On my 6100/G3 250, 264mb RAM, I use OS 7.6.1. It doesn't have many frills, but it keeps zipping right along w/o any problems. It uses high speed internet also...
I have never tried anything higher on this particular machine, but I can attest that O8-OS8.5 on my 7100 was frought with problems & conflicts with AOL, Sonnet extensions, etc. It really depends on what you're wanting to do with it. For instance, my 6100 is only for research & keeping files on the powerbooks I repair. If I were to need a jokebox, however, I would more than likely leave OS 7.6.1 behind... Craig W.
