I've just taken the jump today to OS X.

It's installed in my G3 Tower with an XLR8 ZIF CPU running at 503mhz. (The jumpers
for this CPU are on the CPU) I've got 224MB of RAM in it. Using the on-board video card.

Problems so far: Can't set up my Color StyleWriter Pro Printer. Bugdom, CroMagnon and
Nanosaur won't work in my setup. =^(

I'm a little lost in the differences between OS 9 and X. But it's got an "old friend" kind of feel.

I'm still trying to figure out how to see the space-remaining in my hard drive.

I'm sure there'll be other issues, but to anyone hesitating AT ALL to go X , I'm a dummy. I have to struggle with things before they go my way. Not, however in this particular case.

This has been easy. And the resultant "feel" of X is very, very satisfying. Use of CPU seems improved, graphics are improved, and the awe-factor is astounding.
