Quite a challenge, I expect. The 8500 is a PCI Mac. The 5300 is just
a 6300 in a big case with monitor. The 5300 has a "soldered on"
processor and no PCI slots.

The 5300 logic board has "fingers" along one edge to mate with the
connector in the chassis. The 8500 has no edge connectors.

The 8500 logic board is nearly twice the size of the 5300's.

The best you could easily do (which I have done) is get the single
slot riser from a 6360, put it on the logic board of a 6500, and
slide that into the 5300 chassis.
