According to LEM at http://www.lowendmac.com/ppc/6200.shtml , it will run
anything between 7.5.1 and 9.1. But I wouldn't run anything later than 8.1 to
keep it at an usuable speed.

According to the same page, up to 64 Mb - which also limites the usuability with
the System 9 series, I think - it will be able to boot, but you'll have less room
to run applications.

The 6214 has built-in Ethernet, so it will be capable. You'll need an
AAUI-to-RJ-45 adapter, and then you'll have to plug it into a wireless router
with RJ-45 ports. Once you have it connected physically to the network, you'll be
able to use TCP/IP to access your shared Internet connection (after configuring
it, of course!).

File/printer sharing between PCs and Macs is another matter, because they use
different high-level protocols (SMB versus AppleShare). If you use Microsoft
OSes, I can say that Windows NT Server 4.0 (and possibly also Windows 2000 Server
and Windows 2003 Server, but can't say for sure) does have a component called
"Macintosh Services" that would be able to share folders and printers with
classic Macintosh clients, but I haven't tried it. There are also some
third-party add-ons to Windows that let it act as a server or client in Macintosh
networks. If you are using Linux or another Unix-like OS (like BeOS), I can't
help you.

But, IMHO, the easiest (and creapest) way to perform file sharing between
different platforms is to install an FTP server in one of the machines, and use
an FTP client or a browser in the others. For Windows, I'd suggest GuildFTPd
(http://www.guildftpd.com/), a free, full-featured and easy to set up and manage
FTP server (that's the software I'm currently running my public FTP server
with!).
