In List mode, the Finder normally shows the name of the program that created the file under the column heading "Kind". Several months ago every file created by BBEdit Lite 3.5.1 began showing its Kind as "Probs w/junk email", which happens to be the name of a BBEdit Lite file I created at about that time. Files created with other applications do show up with their proper "Kind" description.
I'd rather have the Kind column in the Finder list show "BBEdit Lite" for such files, as it used to. I have reinstalled BBEdit Lite, replaced its Preferences file, and replaced the Finder Preferences file, all to no avail. The File Type and Creator entries in these files are the correct ones for BBEdit Lite, namely TEXT and R*ch. I have searched the Finder, the BBEdit Lite application and their Preferences files looking for that phrase, but didn't find it. Does anyone know how to fix this? Where does the Finder get the text string it inserts into the "Kind" column?
