Thank you Ron and Ken et. al.,
You are very helpful. The two connectors I asked about are indeed what
you say. I slapped the machine together today and tried again. Also, I
had a look at a couple of nice PDF files since I posted. One is:
Performa_6200_6300.pdf and the other is: dc_9905.pdf. I found them
googling but if anyone wants to see them, I can send.
The 6300 is very responsive under 9.1 with 64 Megs of ram. I turned off
Virtual memory because it's been reported that it doesn't get along with
Video Player. Everything is up to date. However I do believe that I'm
lacking an extension or control panel. I have a 5200CD disk available
and have searched it extensively. Nothing. I also tried a custom install
but the above disk only has two restore options on it. That's what you
get when the Mac comes from one Goodwill store and the CD from another.
As Ron mentioned, I also remember something like Apple FM Tuner when I
used OS7.6.1.
I also learned that the tuner card and the video card and remote shipped
with Avid v.3 CD. I wonder if the Extras would be there? I have one of
those somewhere. Hmm.
Needless to say, My TV app opens but snow on the TV and the controls in
the Control Window don't respond. The only thing working is the cursor.
I must use 3 fingers to escape Video Player. Resolutions are minimum so
that's not the issue. Neat thing is that after a Force Quit in Video
Player, the machine recovers in Finder and continues to be stable.
Tomorrow's another day. Thanks. Roman
