I recently purchased, through LEM[sawp], Adobe Premier3 Software on floppy
disks. I intended experimenting with it on my PM6100. I inserted the"
install disk" in the floppy drive, and, instead of the disk icon appearing
on the desktop, a dialog box appeared indicating that the disk was
unreadable and would I like to format it. I ejected the floppy and
inserted a MAC formated disk. Still no icon, only the dialog box. I tried
this several times with different disks with the same results.

I hadn't used the machine for months, and having just replaced some 16M Ram
Sticks for 32M ones. I figured maybe I did something to the floppy drive
while the machine was opened. I also thought it was possible that the
floppy drive just quit because it was old.

Then, foolishly, I inserted the Adobe Premier3 install disk into the floppy
drive of my PMG3/300 machine. The same thing happened. Now I have two
machines with unusable floppy drives.

On the PM6100 I tried three things:

1) Rebuilt the desktop
2) Reset the PRAM
3) Initialized the Hard Drive and reinstalled the OS.

The floppy drive still does not work.

Has anybody had this experience? Do you think both my floppy drives are
damaged beyond repair?

Would appreciate any insights or comments.

Thank You,

Nancy
