Hi,

I'm new to this list but not to Low End Mac. As Compacts and early Power Books were my main interests, I have been trolling around the corresponding lists for quite some time, but as some "newer" material dropped in, I'll need your help to sort things out. I understand that there was a significant change in architecture between the 52xx/53xx or 62/63xx and the 54/64xx+ range of machines. A mainboard of an AIO came my way, it has a processor marked XPC603FE75-2B and uses 72-pin SIMMs, so I guess it belonged to a 52xx AIO. Apple p/n is 820-0685-B. Here are my questions: Were there any mainboard changes through the 75 MHz production run? And are 52/53xx and 62/63xx mainboards interchangeable on the respective machines? Is the x400/500 mainboard connector diffferent in contacts from the x200/300 one or is the difference just in the length of the mainboard?

Thanks a lot, OM
