Ok, that may be the problem, did not think of that. I just asumed that the
7.5.5 update would do the trick.
Yes you are right. just looked at the extension folders for the other two
drives and they both have an extension called 'Apple Built-in Ethernet' . I
had not seen these files last night.
Any idea where I would get this extension for 7.5.5

Well, if there is nothing there, the only conclusion I
can reach is that you do not have all the extensions for
the ethernet.
It has been so long since I used 7.5.5 regularly that I
can't recall all the details and booting up my old PB165
wasn't much help as it uses an EN/SC for ethernet. But I
seem to recall that the Macs with on-board ethernet needed
the "Ethernet Built-in" extension to use the on board
ethernet connection.
Can you save a list of the extensions that are active on
that disk?
