EXPRESS RECORDS was NOT a KMS offshoot. It was a completely seperate label
owned by Cliff Thomas, who also owns Buy Rite Music (record store). Cliff put
out records by or assisted in some way, Kevin Saunderson, Derrick May, Juan
Atkins, Blake Baxter, Kenny Dixon Jr (aka MOODYMAN), Dj Assault, TrackMaster
Lou Robinson, Mark Kinchen, "yours truely" as well as many others. Many of us
would not have a career in music if not for Cliff Thomas. He wasn't the
greatest cat in the world at times, but I still got love for him.

I don't know of any official discography on line for Express Records. The
best thing to do "if you really want to know" is to call the store and speak
with Cliff directly. I'm sure he'll be glad to share his story with you.

peace & repsect,

TP

<< Hi,

Can you provide (or point me at) an Express (KMS offshoot) discography?

In fact, I want the release dates of these 12"s:

Ms. V (The Bold One) "Out Of Your Mind", Express EXP008, exec. prod.
Clifton Thomas, prod. Art Forest, dist. Music Master Inc. 7324 W.7
 Mile Rd. Detroit MI 48221 (313) 864 2054

Sugar-N-Spice "Love Me Right", EXP018, prod. Clifton Thomas, written
& prod. Art Forest for Myshmie Production, dist. Music Master Inc. (as above)

I remember buying these from Eric Austin at Buy-Rite Records on
W.7 Mile Road, during a visit to Detroit in either '90 or '91.

I can find very little info. on-line about Express.

 TIA,
 Mark Fuller ([EMAIL PROTECTED])
