I could post quotes from an interview I did with Moby where he reveals his true feelings towards Detroit. I don't think he has any empathy for a true innovator like Juan Atkins and his struggles for recognition in the wider US. I mean Juan once broached Warner, I think in LA, and was told that Warner already had a techno artist (Sven Vath). But I have spoken to other writers and DJs and there is a consensus that Moby, for whatever reason, just likes to provoke. I don't understand how it is that people get so excited over Leftfield either. I mean the one killer track on that new album is a Mills rip-off and the Afrika Shox video by that enfant terrible video director Chris Cunningham I find very disturbing indeed - and all the more so since Leftfield have denied that there is a social meaning to it, but rather that it's a 'dark comedy'.
