I've already heard Carl play lots of times and I must say he always adapts
to the crowd or venue. I saw him a couple of years ago in the Cherry Moon
club in Lokeren - Belgium ( I spent my youth there :-) Carl came after Jeff
Mills who had just knocked everybody's brains out for more than two hours.
Everybody was happy Carl took over, but he went the same way. Super hard
shit man! I had the privilege to go behind the discobar and see both
heavyweights on the job and it was f***ing amazing. Mills just threw away
records behind him to go faster and Cox was always mixing with two decks and
adding more layer with the third. My head was buzzing; I'll never forget
that night! Still have some pics of a smiling Jeff and Carl to remind me of
that night.

You're bang on the money with 2 and 3 - but I'd hesitate to call him a
first-rate techno DJ though. He's certainly got the skills but he
plays a lot of really crap records at times and he's always very
commercial and accessible - doesn't take a lot of risks. I know he can
rock a party and all that but I'm not into the music he plays...
