just noticed at around 5:30 AM this morning that
tony touch featuring gang star's--the piece maker
("scratched and produced" by DJ Premier; single
#1 from Touch's album on Tommy Boy)
rides a looped up rhythm nabbed from Kraftwerk's
"Metal On Metal". Sounds great. As does track #6
by Aaliyah on the Romeo Must Die soundtrack (can't
remember the song name, but it's got an incredible live-sounding fuzzy
bassline that reminds of UR's "The Swarm") and
the other Timbaland-produced Aaliyah track on the soundtrack,
can't remember the song title, but it is track #1 on the CD.
I might actually go see Romeo Must Die now *just* so I
can hear those two tracks loud in a movie theatre! :)
