Umar Bin Hassan also read the same poem the previous day during Moodyman's set. It was much easier to hear than when he attempted during May's set. With all the people screaming I could hardly make out a word then.

Does anyone know who was MCing during Eddie Fowlkes set?

About three-quarters of the way through May's set, Umar Bin Hassan from the
Last Poets came on and did a spoken-word reading (no accompaniment from the
decks). It was well-done, but it confused quite a few people --
unfortunately, he sounded *very* hoarse and was hard to understand...

I don't know who was on the conga, but that part turned out great -- he was
on quite a bit during May's set, and at one point, he and May did an
excellent tribal decks-and-conga duet with brief pauses every 30 seconds or
so. They just kept going and going, so every time the audience thought it
was over, they'd launch into it again and get an even *bigger* roar from the
crowd... Number 89 in a series of at least 100 spine-tingling DEMF
moments... ;>
