Yeah, that's some curse that's been buggin some U.S. vinyls for ages. For
some time it was obvious to expect U.S. vinyl to sound shitty, it had a
"cheap"-feeling to it, making it more "underground" (as ridiculous as it
seems).
I've wondered about the differences between vinyl-pressers. Apparently
United Record Pressing, that Submerge / UR use, has a better QC. Detroit's
native pressing-plant Archer on the other hand... Who knows?
I think it is a question of bad luck: some percentage of the pressing amount
is warped and some is not. Like BC for example: I think the first pressings
of those vinyls were OK, but later they were quite shitty quality. List goes
on and on...
