actually that was Carl Meier that was mixing on cds when he came through
town. i also thought for the longest time mixing cds were for pussys and
they could never hold up to 1200s. Carl completely changed my mind. he
mixed like a CHAMP on every single mix. it was nuts, he was absolutely
FLAWLESS. he even busted into that part in stanley kubricks movie 2001,
where HAL9000 the wont let in the space cadets in because HAL was afraid he
was going to disarm him, then coming in with the new Mills "IF"...Carl was
no joke on cds players. beleive it or not!

I shared your thoughts until I heard (I think it was Ken) Meier, loved it,
then found out he was mixing CDs afterwards. Very few can do it well
though.
And from there, I see no difference between CD mixing and mp3s, especially
if you get dual outputs and run it through a mixer. About the only thing
you
can't do at that point is scratching. I don't want to go this route
personally, but I've had my pretenses flatened of late by those who do, and
can show you how it's done.
