i listened to Mike Huckaby's mix yesterday. i wouldn't call it a new sub-genre. house has had that style of deep and often jazzy tracks form the word go. there's a lot of early new york and chicago house that is in that vein. for example early larry heard. it's not a style that i've ever liked, but that's just personal taste. i think rather than a new sub genre, it's just one that has been popular of late--both with producers and the listening public. james

Have a listen. Perhaps as music evolves, my taste evolves as well. Is there a new sub-genre of House music in the making? Learn me.
