FUNK D'VOID (Scotland)
Lars Sandberg has been an essential player in the Scottish techno scene for
the past decade. The Swedish-Glaswegian played an important part in creating
Glasgow's now celebrated club scene by promoting and DJing at nights like
UFO and Nude Photo.
His first solo project was under the monicker Funk D'Void and the track was
the jacking Chi-town classic "Jack Me Off" which gained praise from djs
worlwide.
As one of Soma's most prominent artists, Lars is continually in demand for
his blistering sets, and now DJ's and plays live all over the world.
PERCY X (Scotland)
Soma's techno ambassador Percy X is the alter ego of Tony Scott, the
talented Glasgow DJ and producer. Tony has been producing electronic music
since the early nineties.
With a production style that covers the electronic spectrum from dub
influenced downbeat soundscapes to tough percussive DJ loops, Percy X is a
highly respected exponent of the evolving techno sound.
His mixing style is fast and precise, a chain reaction of cuts, locked
rhythms and nuclear sonic booms. He cites Richie Hawtin, Jeff Mills and Juan
Atkins as influences and is currently spinning disks from artists like James
Ruskin and Ben Simms.
