...of books on 'techno' et al., i'm yet to read one that doesnt come off sounding like it really wants to be part of a university research library (either that or it limply covers all the usual UK flash-in-the-pan styles - remember 'ambient house'?)
I'd rather facts than framework, but thats just me i guess. All the stories and interviews on the ppl involved in this stuff are far more interesting and relevant than authors valiantly trying to place the genre into some part of wider culture. j.
