At first I thought it might be someone else because it didn't fit Hood's style
at
the time (Realm was MP308) just after the Puppet Master release. We had Rob
come
play in Toronto just after this and I asked him. He said it was him. Here's
the
info from the Sonic Groove DB.

Label:
              M-Plant (Detroit, USA)
              M-P 311
     Title:
              Downtown
    Artist:
              Monobox
              Detroit, USA
  Produced by:
              Robert Hood
   Released:
              1997
 Configuration:
              vinyl
              12
    Tracks:
                Untitled 1-2
  Description:
Rob Hood returns to give you 2 tracks of deep monotone minimal
techno

Other than talking to Rob (he was pretty tired and might not have heard me
correctly, we were pretty out of it at 7am), this is my only inkling as to who
is
behind the monobox release, though it is popular belief here in Toronto that
this is
in fact Rob Hood (this record gets played as much as Mills records do here).
