Truth is, nobody knows what it is, and everyone thinks they do. I think it's Relief vs. Cajual, for instance. Think Lester Fitzpatrick of faster Paul Johnson without the ghetto samples. My favorite hard house song as I understand the term is DJ Elin's Mad Cow. It's kinda like saying "hard techno" to someone, but probably even more confusing. It could mean a lot of things depending on where you are and what you know. Hard House is definitely confusing though... when in doubt, remember, it's just a label. When that label becomes so confusing that there is no consensus on what it means, you may want to chose another way to describe what you're talking about, or qualify what you're saying.
