Tribal techno is very percussive techno - I'd like to say that even some of
it (like a few Recycled Loops tracks, for example) has an almost Latino feel
to it. Tribal techno is also referred to as Drum Trax. Some of it uses
African or Tribal voice samples, such as Samuel L. Sessions' Centrafrique.
Much of the drum patterns are of a tribal nature (handrums, woodblocks,
etc.) While much of it can be on the tech house tip, it can also get very
aggressive as well. Here is a an example of a very good tribal record that
I've recently ordered : Bando - Bando Grooves on Session Recordings -
http://209.237.157.45/ram/65150.RAM . This brand of techno is very much my
thing, so if anyone has any other questions about it, I would be more than
happy to answer them!

Sherry Dean
