I went to both, and both were great. X-102 was excellent, there was one part that sounded a little bit "hardcore ravey" but the rest I liked, especially the more ambient experimental moments. The video editing worked well with the music and the images were indeed quite nice. Jeff answered questions after the show and I was impressed by how articulate he was in speaking about his music--a great spokesperson for the concept of techno in my opinion.
Los Hermanos totally brought it, very uplifting and exciting to see live. I heard nothing but good reviews from all who were in attendance. It was about the right size crowd for the venue, which isn't all that big. Jeff Mills even came out. After the show I really enjoyed talking to Gerald Mitchell for a moment, he seemed like a super nice guy; also, he seemed genuinely glad when I gave him my latest tracks on vinyl. All in all a very fun night. ~David On Tue, Jan 20, 2009 at 1:22 PM, Arturo Lopez <[email protected]> wrote: > Did anyone in Chicago catch the free screening of Friday?
