Before certain Techno musicians made Berlin a cliche European destination, Berlin was a unique center of German and World Culture. It is a fantastic place, a huge, crazy city with a unique vibe. It is famous in Germany for being the one place Germans are laid back.
It's centrally located between Eastern and Western Europe and is a good place to be if you want to play shows on the continent. It is still the home of a huge contingent of creative artists and musicians. It has several fantastic clubs with reliable audiences for dance music of all sorts. It's a place where any electronic musician can easily find like-minded musicians to collaborate with. It's also the most affordable European capitol to live in. So forget the Uberkoolische, because it's a very logical move for any musician whose bookings are mostly in Europe. I loved the time I spent there in 2007, and want to go back.
