A truly unique operation...SANDWELL DISTRICT
SANDWELL DISTRICT is the underground Techno label of the moment. With
support from all quarters (Dettmann + Klock, Laurent Garnier, Jeff
Mills, and Speedy J to name a few) the label collapses techno's
boundaries and rebuilds the genre in its own unique image. As
stalwarts of the hugely influential label Downwards, Function and
Regis have pushed the dance music envelope for over a decade.
Sandwell District however is a beast of its own, a label of the here
and now. Pushing new boundaries with each EP, Sandwell has earned
label of the month in both DJ Mag and Resident Advisor and caused
waves within the industry. Function and Regis' approach to live/DJ
work similarly challenges convention, with a combined digital/analogue
environment allowing both artists to feed off one another during their
performance.
