Amongs the Google Labs options (under the green erlenmeyer flask icon next to 'Settings' at the top of the page), there are 'Preview Flickr Links' and 'Preview Picasa Links' flags. When people post picture URLS from those sites on 313, even though they're plain text messages, you'll be able to see the linked pictures in your message.
