I've just begun reading the articles and don't know yet if it's going
to be mostly academic self-absorption (rampant in the field of
ethnomusicology where this journal is roughly situated). So far it's
fairly lively and the article about trance is a hoot. And having
people like Hilly Rietveld writing is a plus. So far I'm liking it :)

All the articles are online, the index page is:

Dancecult: Journal of Electronic Dance Music Culture

By Bruce Sterling October 10, 2009 | 4:31 pm

*Man, the academy can devour ANYTHING!

*Worse yet, this sounds remarkably interesting! I’m afraid I’m going to
have to read this.
