Honestly, I don't think that lack of detailed Otaku-style knowledge is or should be a barrier to entering discussion. Everyone has their own personal reactions and tastes, and as long as they are expressed respectfully I think they'll be treated respectfully.
And if not, welcome to the Internet. 313 is too low traffic to be of much use to trolls at this point, though.
