According to IMDB.com the filming took place in both Atlanta, Georgia and also Allen Park, MI
I think the rest of the show is supposed to be filmed in Detroit. They've dropped the "documentary" style of the show though in the wake of the tragic shooting death during the filming of "The First 48".
