In the past few months, I've started getting requests from people to
remove posts from the 313 list archives.

I'll add this to the FAQ at some point but here's a heads up for those
of you here and paying attention:

I'm not going to remove messages from the archives, for anyone, for
any reason. Here's my rationale

1. Unless you're an idiot (and I have my suspicions about the people
making these requests) you should know never to post anything on the
Internet that you don't want to show up in a Google search. I knew
that in 1987 when I started posting to Usenet, so ignorance is no
excuse.

2. That ship has sailed. The 313 list archive is available places
other than hyperreal.org -- mail-archive.org, n*bble.com,
resynthesize.com (if it ever comes back up), and probably elsewhere as
well. I'm not going to try and track them all down.

3. It's a time-consuming and annoying process to remove individual
messages from the raw list archives. My life is too short for that
shizz.

So be warned: anything you say on the 313 list will become part of
your permanent record.
