Hmmm 'Sound Sketches'...is one way of putting it. In fact, what these productions appear to be [unless I'm mistaken] are individual pieces made with perhaps a maximum of 16 channels.
Additionally, judging by the tonal character of sounds used, I'd suggest that these were produced using real hardware - and I'd even go so far as to say I can recognise some proper analogue tones here too. When you're using hardware with a small studio, what you make often ends up sounding like 'sketches'. But they're not strictly that. Each of these pieces has just the kind of intrigue, warmth and apparent simplicity which I tend to like, from what I can tell so far. Thumbs up. [And this is from someone who's been quite disappointed by CC's recent output - albeit that's mostly been in the form of remixes.] Ken -----Original Message----- From: Aidan O'Doherty [mailto:[email protected]] Sent: 22 May 2012 11:08 To: Odeluga, Ken Cc: [email protected] Subject: Re: (313) Carls Davis AKA Carl Craig since i can't listen to samples in work, can i ask people's opinions - is it any cop?
