I figure this has gotta have some 313 appeal even tho he's from LA... Just picked up John Tejada - The Matrix of Us out now on Defocus.
It's lovely! Gorgeous, soulful, funky melodies. Up to the usual high Defocus standard. I got Little Green Lights and Four Inch Faders a while ago and despite the fact theat it was pretty well-recieved and said in some quarters to be Black-Doggish, I was never really too impressed. I felt it was so much what I might have expected that I hardly need listen to it. What do you all reckon though, should I have more patience with it? In contrast, this new one grabbed me right away. It comes highly recommended - from me anyway. And this time it really does remind me of Black Dog. Ross.
