No ;-) Slip == Troy Geary who has done loads of excellent records. Sattinger lives in NYC now, and runs the Polar Bear Club Fridays at Tonic. Wasn't able to hook up when I was out there, but a super-nice guy. Woody has been DJ'ing a lot lately. Communique seems to be more or less on hiatus. I think he's making better money DJ'ing and releasing stuff on other people's labels. Freddy Fresh has made a huge name for himself DJ'ing all over the world. Last I heard he was reconfiguring a new studio, after his house burned down. Lesser known, but equally dope MPLS heads: Rob Williams (Tempest on Communique) has been concentrating more lately on his day job, but I'm bugging him to finish an EP for me. He has by far the best home studio of any techno musician I know, and the few records he's put out have all been top notch -- Masterbeat in particular is one of those bomb tracks you put on to blow the place up. Jon Gilkison is in NYC, doing the computer thing but does house and tech house tracks that it's criminal no one is releasing. Six years ago, Rob, Troy and Woody were sharing a studio and having trouble keeping up on the rent. Freddy was delivering pizza. The Minneapolis scene from back in the day has kind of dispersed, but it's still hugely influential, and anyone of these guys could set the world on its ear at any moment.
