Well, Frankie Knuckles did it a lot, as did Ron Hardy, but Tyree is largely credited with kick starting a movement with it when he found some records in his mum's collection of speeches by a preacher in Chicago and started absolutely caning them. I suppose Frankie Knuckles is the originator, though.
