Theo Parrish always seems to have that slower, almost narcotic, sexy vibe to
his music. I love most of his stuff...

Subject: [313] spaced out music

Anyone have some suggestions for some of the slower tempo (110bpm to 120bpm)
house/techno tunes from Detroit area producers (or those who follow their
teachings)...my frame of reference is Larry Heard (yeah, I know he's not
Detroit) style like his mixes at
http://deephouse.biostat.wisc.edu/mixes12a.htm

I'm interested if any artists are currenly making tunes at this slower than
what's currently common tempo.
It seems to me that music this slow died in '97? Correct me if I'm wrong
please.

I just recently found a used record on Global Cuts (R&S) by Subliminal! that
is very very spaced out and deep. I'm not sure of the date but it sounds at
least '95. If I remember the title it's called "Only you!" (the exclamation
is in the title).

Fred

PS What is it about Mr. Heard that makes him as easily connected to Detroit
as to Chicago? I could use as much edu. on this as possible because I'm
rather smitten with his sound right now.
