All this talk about UR in London for NYE got me thinking... When was the last
time anyone saw Underground Resistance Live? If it was after Mills and Hood
left, would it have been just Mad Mike? It seems like there are a lot of people
who can put themselves under the UR banner now(Banks, Rolando, Pennington,
Holland, Floyd, Drexciya, etc.)

The Reinforced Records party about a year ago at Fabric had "Underground
Resistance" listed as playing and possibly Mad Mike (not 100% on that). I seem
to remember Mike making some cryptic statement to the effect of "I don't DJ, but
I will be there in spirit." Anyways, "UR" didn't show and neither did Juan
Atkins but it was still a fine night. Got to see Paperclip People, Random Noise
Generation, Lawrence Burden, Claude Young (who spun Armand van Helden's "You
Don't Know Me" while DJ Sneak rolled joints in the DJ box), Rolando and Theo
Parrish. Theo was on from 4:30 to 6 a.m. and was still going at 6:30 when they
finally pulled the plug on the sound system and turned on the lights - an
amazing night.

I had some vague notion of tying this in with the whole UR/Moodymann NYE
thing...I wanted to say that everything will be alright, but who really knows?
