Thanks, Diana, for posting that article. It kinda cemented the fact that Wynton Marsalis' heavy-handedness in the documentary was responsible for the apparent "burning out" of jazz in the latter part of the century. This is not the first time that Marsalis has proven himself as the enemy of jazz advancement. (See his involvement in the Lincoln Center) Preservation is one thing — Abortion is another. (in the musical sense, for those who may take things a bit too literally.)
