Re:
I checked the price for Pontchartrain(correct spelling, its down to ?>$89.95 USD!!!).

I've got three nights booked there, Saturday thru Monday (don't forget that the big end is on Monday night... how late did it go last time?) so staying overnight til Tuesday is recommended. However, Pontchartrain is $89 a night until Monday night, it jumps to $109 US ($335 total with tax for the three nights). Just to let everyone know.

Hi,

There are a slew of hotels on Jefferson Ave too...starting right past the
Shorecrest motel down to Grand Ave. There's a Days Inn ($55.96 -$69.95 USD newly remodeled and its got a pool too, so get it while its hot ! My pick!),
Comfort Inn (1999 e. jefferson - $89.00 - $159.00 USD). I checked the price
for Pontchartrain(correct spelling, its down to $89.95 USD!!!). I think
there's a Holiday Inn Express or a Howard Johnsons down there too but I'll
check. Anyway, point your browsers to this link for Days Inn, Comfort Inn or
Pontchartrain:

Click the word "hotel" in the book room box in the middle then fill out the
necessary info on the next page...make sure you type "jefferson ave" on the
next page in the "address" field or those hotels may not show up and select within "1 mile" vicinity. Days Inn should pop up, as well as Pontchartrain
(and others) which has the "special key" icon under the price...

The Area:

The area in which these hotels are situated seems like an decent area, well
lit, with their own parking lots. I've been around that area in the Fall,
cruisin around there at night and noticed all these hotels, all look
new...very decent. There are alot of car dealers, residentials...I was told Kenny Larkin and Mills used to live in this area... the US immigration office
is there also and a CVS Pharmacy/Food store (24 hours) if you get the
munchies. Not to mention, a mid-sized plaza somewhere on that street with
all kinds of stores, I think there's a Fuddruckers(sp?) restaurant in the
Plaza too. If Big Boy's is up your alley, there's one in the area too. Just keep straight down on Jefferson...to just before the entrance bridge to Belle Isle, on the left side of street. Or check out Shorecrest's famous cruisine,
that Mad Mike recommends.

The restaurants I recommend if you want to go further north on Woodward is
Union Street (look for a green National City sign and parking lot on your
left...great food, very hip, with a bar. =) Or across the street from that
is The Majestic...had dinner with Adam Beyer and his gf, one of the motor
detroit guys, and Alan, there once...very nice. Adam and his gf were both
chompin on some very delicious looking, organic salads. =)

Ok enough blabbing...my apologies, music heads. Just wanted to give people a
rough idea of what to expect ... I hope this helps...if you need any help,
please feel free to email me. =)
