Luke Slater's "Love" always get people up around the decks to see what's
playing.

I don't play records out much, but once my friend had this party at Middle
Head on the North Shore of Sydney Harbour, it's actually army property the
decks and dancefloor were in this huge maze like concrete bomb shelter. The
acoustics were interesting to say the least, part of the shelter roof was
missing so you could look out over 180 degree views of Sydney Harbour.
Despite the amazing venue, the party seemed fairly stagnant, so I started
off with one of my favourite tracks:
KMS 047 Shakir's "Shock Therapy"
easily his best work that I own (IMO)
Goddam! Percussion was flyin' everywhere, and those nasty synth stabs,
sheeitt!
I don't know if that's when peoples stuff started to come on or what, but
the place was suddenly jackin'!
Incidentally does anyone know or have any more info for Shakir recording as
K.O.T. on Black Bottom records?
I think he did a track called "The Jit" for the label?
Is it his hip hop stuff?
& for Detroit list members Is the "Jit" still an acceptable manouvre on
Detroit dancefloors?
Peace,
Rc
