See that is just it , with the scene the really professional people get
overlooked , but if all these promoters want innovation and change ,
Ha! I don't think there are too many promoters who want innovation and
change in the way you (or I for that matter) want in this town.
Everytime there is someone passing through Australia, Sydney has the
oppurtunity to get them. Yes, that means Sydney has had the oppurtunity to
have the likes of Robert Hood how went to Melbourne, but the promoters here
went "who???"
There are promoters in this town who would like to get these people here,
but these aren't the promoters stacks of money.
their idea is to stick with detroit artist who dont show up . I wont name
any names.
Who are you referring to? The only Detroit DJ who hasn't shown up in Sydney
when booked was Terrance Parker. They did announce the cancellation probably
a couple of weeks before the gig, so I don't see the problem there.
Everyone else have made their advertised gigs:
Jeff Mills, UR, Derrick May, Carl Craig, Kenny Larkin, Claude Young, DJ
Rolando, Rick Wade, Recloose, Common Factor. Probably a couple of others as
well.
If you want to see Detroit styles in this town more just make sure you
support the nights which support them.
Flash, Deep Space and Mad Racket are people that spring to mind. Also S*P*R*
on a semi-regular basis.
