I'm still in a haze. Am I awake? My lungs feel like some one is still standing on them. My ears are still ringing and thumping.Sorry, this post is going to scattered and weird.
Mills started off with the classic old skool funk. It was great to hear him play it too. The crowd was still thin at this point so you could dance while not being locked into a small space. I put down work for a while to boogie and looked around and every one who was around me were the same people that were around when I was eighteen. Nothing like nastalgia to take it to the next level. He then glided into the techno, dropping all the classics including (insert voice) 'cameras ready prepare to flash'! WOO the crowd goes wild. His drop back into old school was timed _perfectly_ too. A well mixed crowd of people and the security was tighttightight, but some of them were really nice and I think i must have had 'my name is sweety,hun, sweetheart' tattooed on my forehead, cuz that's what they kept on calling me. Speaking of..any one check out the tattoo work on the shot girl?damn.nice sleeve she had. The sound _was_ aweful. the closer you got the more muffled it became. The state theater is a concert venue, built for acoustics. Its not a warehouse or a skating rink.My ears still really hurt and I'm looking into miracle ear 2001 while Im writing this.I was standing in the back of the balcony and it was still too loud. The WJLB guy brough old skool flavor but his mic was too high and he needed to be quiet after the first 'let me hear from all the old skoolers out there'...but it could of been worse.I've heard worse. I also wonder why famous dudes come all the way to detroit to hear mills and then stand in the lobby the whole time. Anybody pick up on Eminem in the balcony with his HUGE a*s posse taking up all the balcony from people who probably actually care.It's like the time I saw Kid Rock dancing at motor. I thought it funny he jetted just as Jeff slipped into classic disco and old skool after the techno.His limo out front was the size of an airport shuttle bus. maybe he's thinking he could be a DJ and save himself the shootings and came for some pointers:)))) whatever.im tired.in a haze and I have about 11 more work hours to go but I saw mills play last night.
