Not for nothing, but the line-up so far for this year's DEMF seems a bit lite
for my tastes. As BMG states in the Metrotimes, and I'm taking this out of
context: "...of course, there are notable omissions: Rob Hood, UR, Blake
Baxter, many notable new local techno labels, and more Chicago heroes
such as Larry Heard and Lil Louis."

Word. What's going on? Not that I'm a Detroit purist, but if you're having a
Detroit festival, where are the Detroit heads? I don' t want to incite
controversy or place blame on anyone, but I feel like maybe alot of the
Detroit artists might have gotten turned off by the commercial and/or
overexposed nature of this event? And not that I'm into such
commercialism, but if this event is sponsored by Ford Focus, where is
Juan when their whole campaign is based around his track? Perhaps it is
a little early to come to too many conclusions... I don't know?

Can anyone help shed some light on this for me, because I'm not aware
of all the politics that goes on in Detroit and with this festival?

Thanks,
Jason
