Phylyps trak II is definitely my favorite Basic Channel release, although they are all - for the most part - variations on a similar theme (the other one you heard might have been a Jeff Mills remix?). I'd say that you can't go wrong in picking up any (or indeed all) of the Basic Channel tracks you can find...
Other labels/projects related to Basic Channel (either labels published by Basic Channel Publishing or BC related projects) Chain Reaction (this label that took over when Basic Channel ended) M (I'm not sure if this constitutes a label in it's own right, or if it's more of a project on Chain Reaction) Burial Mix Imbalance Computer Music Main Street Records Rhythm & Sound (label and project) Quadrant Din A few more labels that do that minimal techno and house thing: M-Plant Accelerate Deepchord Profan (particularly for the Studio1 EPs) Force Tracks Playhouse Max - Ernst You'll probably get some better replies from others on the list. I really like this kind of stuff, but pay less attention than I should to who makes it and how the labels are interconnected. The 'M' series on Chain Reaction / M is definitely worth investigating (M4 is a particular favorite). Some of Marco Carola's stuff has that minimal dub sound, as do a lot of Gaz Varley (G-Man) releases. None of them quite as stripped down / experimental as the Basic Channel related stuff though. ----- Original Message ----- From: Scotto <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> To: 313 <[email protected]> Sent: Monday, April 09, 2001 10:10 PM Subject: [313] BC 09/suggestions > I was woundering if anyone could suggest other BC records that are in the > vien of this one. both tracks are really good.
