Thanks, Matt. Exactly...the Soul Center cut-up approach clearly echoes
Faulkner's compelling, fractured narrative strategy in those novels, where
memory shards fuse together to slice deeply & lovingly into the cultural
underbelly of the American South.      

That track you're thinking of from SC I is "P/SHACK SESSION," which
samples heavily from The Temptations' "Psychedelic Shack." Another
spine-tingler, for sure. I just pray Brinkmann keeps mining these weird
scenes from inside the vinyl goldmine...
