Actually, the first time I heard it on wax was on the original. The phrase "too black, too strong" was taken from MESSAGE TO THE GRASS ROOTS delivered in Detroit in the mid sixties by Malcolm X. My aunt had the LP with this and BALLOT OR THE BULLET on it.....used to mix it in with my house back in the day.....
