Well according to Bill Brewster and Frank Broughton's book Last Night a DJ saved my Life, the first person to ever use 2 turntables to get a continuous flow of music in a public performance was none other than the fat cigar toting, gold medallion swinging and shellsuit wearing fix it man himslf, Mr Jimmy Saville (Now then Now Then, how's about that boys and girls etc...). And this was in 1946! So I guess that kind of makes him the Godfather of Djing as well as the Godfather of Hip Hop fashion (the blunt, the gold, the tracksuits :))
