Went to check out Plaid last night here in NYC at Plant. They did a "live" thing with laptops and then threw down some wax. Some "pretty nice chewns, mate". Also, the guys from Prefuse73 were there doing their thing... I believe that was them throwing down the hip-hop records? I don't know? I heard they were going to play along with MFDoom for his record release party, and I thought it was them; but then we left early cause that place with a little squeezed. Whoever they were, they were dropping the dope wax. Mad classics by Kool G. Rap, Nice n' Smooth, De La (Potholes In My Lawn), and even Just-ice. Got ME movin'... respect! Nice to see some brothas up in the piece as well... I don't know about other places, but NYC is whiteboy, yuppie central these days man! It gets annoying...
BTW, that Prefuse record that came out on Warp, Estrocaro, is f**kin' awesome! Brilliant hip-hop techno fusion. Alot going in NY this week (finally). On Friday Mike "Agent X" Clark is DJing at Centro-fly for Kimyon and his crew. Thursday Ricardo Villalobos is DJing for one of Ulyssees' parties (sorry, don't have the info on that in front of me), and Saturday my posse is doing our weekly thing at Pyramid once again. This week we got the Decal Records crew from Dublin (they remixed Two Lone Swordsmen recently), and Ricardo Villalobos waxing the decks. I will forward that info to the list. I hope some of you who are in NY this wk/end will come check it. Peace, J --------------------------------------------- This message was sent via the Ulsternet webmail system. http://www.ulster.net
