I disagree, though I do see your point, but I feel that where a voice is a vocalists instrument through which to 'bare' ones soul, a bass player, a drummer or any other type of musician are equally able, if talented enough, to do the same through thier chosen means. There has been some great instrumental soul music over the years (Love Unlimited Orchestra "strange games and things" springs to mind), and electronic music is no exception.
