a lot of this has to do with the telecom bill of 1996 and the fact that companies can own hundreds of stations now (before it was 12) so big companies are buying up the smaller stations and with mtv consultant cookie cutter are making radio even worse then it was before. maybe satellite radio will change this? force fm/am back to being local.
